December 18 is a day when the international community recognizes the rights of migrants around the world. The UN General Assembly approved the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families on 18 December 1990, and the day was officially proclaimed International Migrants Day by the General Assembly in its resolution A/RES/55/93 in 2000.
